The Job Our Repairs team deliver a critical service to our customers, supporting them when technical faults with devices occur or they are damaged. The main purpose of this role is to upgrade OS of the Smartbox devices. As RepairsTechnician you will be responsible for delivering a world-class repair service from our Malvern office to customers and partners worldwide. You will be part of a busy repair team with a varying daily workload, so being able to manage your time and prioritise tasks is essential. Duties will include: • Perform operating system upgrades on devices submitted by customers or generated internally. • Generate quotations and shipping documents for the upgrade procedure and communicate updates and quotes to customers via email or phone. • Service customer devices with the objective of restoring them to optimal functionality, in accordance with established repair protocols. • Oversee the timely execution of operating system upgrades, ensuring coordination with customer payment processes. • Ensure received devices are backed up and recorded using business systems - Microsoft Business Central. • Meticulously document each step of the upgrade process into the business systems. • Clean devices to the highest standards, following company-defined standard. • Prioritise and manage workload in alignment with both personal objectives and the wider goals of the company. • Collaborate constructively with colleagues across the Smartbox Group’s teams. • Participate in assigned projects, representing the Repairs team’s interests and ensuring clear communication of project developments to all relevant stakeholders • Attend and contribute to all Repairs team meetings and planning sessions, supporting ongoing efforts to enhance internal processes. • Handle all data responsibly and in full compliance with GDPR regulations and internal data management procedures. • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of both Windows and Apple operating system The successful applicant will also be asked to perform other duties on an ad-hoc basis and will need a proactive attitude to this.
