The Role
As a Finance Clerk - AR, you will play a key role in managing the financial health of the business by ensuring timely and accurate collection of customer payments. This role involves preparing and issuing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining up-to-date records of all receivables activity. You'll work closely with internal teams and external customers to resolve payment queries, support month-end closing processes, and contribute to effective cash flow management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong grasp of accounting principles and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
This role reports into the Transactional Finance Manager, based in Thirsk North Yorkshire, offering hybrid working and a permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance of the accounts receivable ledger.
* Timely processing of supplier invoices and completion of supplier statement reconciliations. Chase business stakeholders for purchase order raising and receipting
* Manage supplier queries via the accounts payable inbox and other means of supplier communication. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders where necessary.
* Management of and timely processing of customer receipts, credit note matching, customer deductions and sundry invoices.
* Processing new customer and supplier details and accurate details changes on a timely basis, with appropriate verification.
* Keeping up to date with latest fraud information and ensuring that ledger and payment controls are appropriate in light of the latest information.
* Provide cover for the weekly payment run and payment run postings.
* Take part in system testing and process changes where applicable.
* Input into weekly KPI's for Accounts Payable
* Assistance with other ad hoc tasks and necessary

* Previous purchase ledger experience desirable but not essential
