Job Role: Trainer
Leeds City College, part of the Luminate Education Group, is seeking a dedicated Trainer to support our Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs department. This role involves accurate record keeping, compliance, and funding data management.
Salary: £24,116 to £25,532 per annum (pro rata for 37 hours/week, 39 weeks/year)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, 39 weeks per year
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver lessons supporting learners' progress in line with their EHCPs.
2. Lead lessons aligned with curriculum objectives and EHCP outcomes, with support from Course leads and programme managers.
3. Create engaging resources to develop learners' skills and upload evidence to Navigate.
4. Support principles and practical skills to assist learners' journey into Adulthood.
5. Assess and review learners' progress, providing feedback to aid their development, with mentorship support.
6. Contribute to creating a nurturing, positive environment as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. English and Mathematics at Level 2 or above, with a willingness to progress to Level 3.
2. Appropriate Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., Level 5 Award in Education and Training, QTLS, or PGCE) is desirable.
3. Knowledge of caring for young people and adults with Complex Needs and PMLD is advantageous.
4. Experience with processes ensuring care and support within college guidelines.
5. Apply restorative practices in communication with learners and colleagues.
