Team/Role Overview
The Program Management Senior Lead is a strategic professional within the Markets COO Front Office Transformation department who delivers material business or regulatory change initiatives. This pivotal position demands deep Capital Markets experience and exceptional communication and diplomacy skills for effective internal negotiation, influencing senior stakeholders, guiding cross‑functional teams, and engaging external clients. They are accountable for delivering significant direct business results, providing authoritative advice on business operations, and driving strategy through close collaboration with Sales & Trading, Business Management, Legal, Operations, and IT teams.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and drive execution of the delivery of cross‑business transformation or regulatory initiatives to meet the required outcomes for Markets.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Markets Businesses/ Risk and Control, Operations, Technology, Finance, Compliance, Legal to define project scope, objectives and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Program Planning & Direction: Support the planning, directing, and coordination of day‑to‑day activities for programs or portfolios, ensuring alignment with business goals. This includes creating program plans, charters, and ensuring funding approval.
* Stakeholder Management: Identify and manage relationships with all key stakeholders, including senior management. Ensure effective communication of status, issues and risks, and secure commitment for resources.
* Issue & Risk Management: Lead the identification, resolution, and escalation of program issues and risks, developing and executing mitigation strategies as needed.
* Scope & Objective Alignment: Work with stakeholders and Program Sponsors to define and align program scope, business case, and cost‑benefit analysis with overall business objectives. This includes the ability to analyze and critically assess large datasets to inform robust program scoping and strategic definition.
* Process & Standards Adherence: Drive adherence to established program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for consistent program delivery.
* Resource & Staffing Management: Ensure programs are appropriately staffed and manage overall staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
* Strategic & Financial Oversight: Contribute to budget, policy formulation and planning.
What We’ll Need From You
* Delivered large‑scale business transformation and/or regulatory change within finance.
* Led complex cross‑business programs from initiation to closure, achieving measurable outcomes.
* Managed scope, cost‑benefit analysis, and dependencies for multi‑workstream initiatives.
* Understood and applied Markets business operations models and controls.
* Influenced and negotiated with senior leaders through effective stakeholder management.
* Drove strategic solutions by assessing complex problems and defining clear objectives.
* Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
* Professional qualification, e.g. Prince 2, Agile is advantageous.
