Job Title: Night Shift Supervisor (Waste & Recycling Operations)
Location: Caythorpe, NG32 area
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (Permanent Role)
Shift Pattern: Night shifts (rota-based)
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Night Shift Supervisor / Nightshift Manager to join a busy waste and recycling facility in Caythorpe.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing full site operations during the night shift, ensuring production, compliance, and safety standards are consistently met. You will be the senior person on site, taking full responsibility for decision-making and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full operational control of the site during night shifts
* Managing waste processing, including RDF and SRF production targets
* Ensuring safe, efficient and compliant site operations
* Managing labour, plant and resources effectively
* Leading and motivating night shift teams
* Ensuring strict health & safety compliance at all times
* Authorizing safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures
* Responding to incidents, investigations, and operational issues
* Ensuring product quality standards are met (RDF / SRF)
* Monitoring contamination and taking corrective action
* Maintaining accurate compliance documentation and reporting
* Overseeing plant usage, maintenance coordination, and fault reporting
* Completing shift reports and delivering clear handovers
About You
* Previous supervisory/management experience in waste, recycling, or heavy industry
* Strong knowledge of health & safety procedures
* Confident decision-maker with ability to work independently
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Excellent communication and reporting abilityExperience with RDF/SRF desirable
* WAMITAB / COTC desirable
* IOSH Managing Safely desirable
* Mobile plant experience (loading shovel, 360, FLT) advantageous
