We are now seeking an exceptional HR Business Partner to join our People Team in a pivotal leadership role, partnering with senior operational leaders and driving a high-impact people strategy across the region.
The Role
This is a strategic and hands-on position responsible for shaping organisational capability, enhancing colleague experience, and ensuring best-in-class people practices. Leading a high-performing HR team, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while championing a culture that reflects Steer’s core values.
Operating within a fast-paced, commercial, multi-site environment, you will balance strategic influence with operational excellence — delivering measurable results that support both our colleagues and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with Regional Managing Director, Regional Directors and senior leaders to align the People strategy with business goals.
* Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing HR team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Drive engagement, retention, and talent initiatives that support Steer’s ambitious growth plans.
* Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
* Design and deliver ER and talent development training to strengthen leadership capability across the region.
* Champion innovative people solutions that enhance processes, performance, and colleague experience.
* Use people data and insights to inform decision-making and deliver measurable impact.
* Support organisational change and transformation initiatives.
* Partner with the Recruitment Manager to attract and retain high‑calibre talent.
* Embed a culture of professionalism and integrity across all people practices.
What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience of leading a high-performing HR team.
* Proven experience operating in a strategic HR Business Partner role within a multi-site environment.
* Previous experience delivering Employee Relations and talent development training.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance people and business needs.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays as required.
