Permanent- 37.5 hours per week
Paying £29,029 - £31,529 per annum depending on experience and qualifications

The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London receive both UK and international patients. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, 6 theatres, medical and surgical wards, CDU, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, and a dedicated day surgery unit.

The radiography services we provide at the Cromwell Hospital includes; Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, MRI, CT, General/Xray, and Mammography. We also partner with Genesis Care who are onsite offering therapeutic services. The department is ISO 9001:2015 accredited, and we provide a range of nuclear medicine examinations for many types of cancers, heart disease, gastro, endocrine, and neuro disorders.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
The Healthcare Assistant will contribute in the delivery of care needs to the patients by assisting the team to provide a high standard of nursing care.
You will assist the radiologists in diagnostic scans and minimally invasive interventional procedures such as non-organ biopsies, breast biopsies, aspiration of non-infectious collection i.e. needle tap. You’ll also be involved in ordering consumables and ensuring environmental upkeep.
1. Welcome and receive patients, visitors and colleagues to the Unit.
2. Ensure at all times the needs and concerns of patients and their friends/relatives are
given thorough attention and a friendly and efficient service is provided.
3. Have an understanding of cultural needs and assist patients to orientate to the ward.
4. Report to a qualified nurse, any changes in a patient’s condition that may require
nursing intervention.
5. Refer patients’, relatives’ and colleagues’ queries to the Nursing Staff
6. Accompany patients (including their friends and relatives) between Departments.
7. Assist patients with eating, drinking, patient hygiene and elimination procedures.
8. Transport Clinical specimens / Prescription charts, as directed, to the relevant Departments.
9. Enter requests on the computer as directed.
10. Assist with observation and collection of specimens.
Answer the telephone and pass on non - clinical messages as required, ensure filing systems are kept up to date.
11. Assist the receptionist and nursing staff with any other clerical duties when required.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
12. NVQ Level 2 -Direct Patient Care or equivalent. (Essential)
13. NVQ Level 3 - Direct Patient Care. (Desirable)
14. Experience working on a ward or outpatient setting.
15. Competent with venepuncture and phlebotomy skills.
16. First Aid Course (desirable)
17. Competent in written and oral English.
