Belcan’s Marine Engineering Division is currently experiencing significant growth and is seeking to recruit several Outfit Detail Design Engineers on a Permanent or Contract (Inside IR35) basis, at an Engineer – Senior Engineer level.
This role involves working on naval marine design projects for defence vessels, with relevant experience in commercial vessel design also of interest. Responsibilities include undertaking detail design activities, such as designing layouts of cabins and areas within vessels.
Daily tasks will include producing 3D models and 2D outputs to support operations within our Marine sector, while maintaining Belcan’s quality standards.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an Engineering Service environment, balancing technical responsibilities with project timelines and commercial considerations. Key technical skills include compartment design, equipment integration, ship access and escape environments, insulation, paint, and deck coverings.
Software Experience: Proficiency in FORAN, with involvement in naval marine design projects related to outfitting and layouts, is essential.
