We are currently seeking to employ a team member for a small service based in Baydon Wiltshire on a temporary 6-month contract to cover maternity leave. Shalom is home to 4 individuals with learning disabilities and complex health needs. The individuals at Shalom would like a support worker who has a cheerful happy approach to support them with all aspects of care and support needs. The individuals at Shalom, are looking for a person who is energetic and passionate about making a difference in their lives. They are looking for a person who is going to walk through the door with a smile and who radiates happiness and compassion. Responsibilities: To remain positive and cheerful and always deliver high quality person-centred care and support. Complete NEWS during the night if individuals are unwell. Support with all aspects of personal care. Administer both PRN medication and rescue medication when required. Monitor and report any changes in health or behaviours. Record all interactions on the nourish recording system. Monitor the individuals hourly during the night. Provide emotional support and encourage independence. Carry out domestic tasks during the night. Ensure a thorough handover in the mornings to the next shift. Occasional day shifts may be required to attend essential face to face training. Experience: Knowledge of Health and safety and first aid is desirable. The ability to work independently and within a team is essential. Experience is not essential although experience in a care related role is desirable.
