This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role, working from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Selly Oak Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 3:15 pm About the Role We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant who specialises in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will be working one-to-one with a Year 1 pupil, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing classroom environment. Your role is vital in ensuring the child's individual needs are met, fostering confidence, independence, and a positive learning experience. Key Responsibilities Providing one-to-one support to a Year 1 pupil with additional needs Implementing tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional well-being Assisting with activities that promote inclusion and engagement Monitoring and recording progress, and providing feedback to teachers and parents Supporting the child's development of social skills and independence Promoting a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for the pupil Candidate Requirements A recognised, qualified Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) Proven experience working in a UK school, supporting children with SEN Prior experience working one-to-one with pupils with additional needs is essential Strong understanding of SEN and differentiation strategies Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach Excellent communication and teamwork skills Monarch Education are proud to be a leading recruitment specialist in the Education industry.
