About the Role
We're looking for a Merchandising Team Leader based in your area. You'll be an integral part of a field-based retail merchandising team, working in a range of high street retailers on behalf of exciting household name brands. We work across a variety of categories including books and entertainment, fashion, grocery, health and beauty, beers, wines and spirits, and toys.
Working Hours: Minimum of 30 per week – 18 hours for team supervisory tasks and 12 hours for client merchandising.
Rate: Team supervisory tasks at £13.50 per hour and merchandising tasks at £12.71 per hour.
Ideal recruitment area: Bristol.
Areas covered: All Bristol postcodes from BS1 onwards.
Team Leadership
* Oversee day‑to‑day activity in the district, ensuring all work is completed on time and to agreed standards.
* Manage and arrange merchandiser schedules for the district.
* Support recruitment and onboarding for the district.
* Train, support, and guide merchandisers so they are confident and capable in their roles.
* Give regular feedback by celebrating good work and addressing performance concerns early.
* Act as the main point of contact for the district and share timely updates through feedback tools.
Compliance & Standards
* Ensure everyone follows correct processes, standards, and safety guidelines.
* Ensure plans and schedules are accurate, realistic, and aligned with wider regional priorities.
* Maintain strong admin standards and accurate data in all systems.
Merchandising
* Ensure all merchandising and in‑store activity is completed correctly, following briefs and planograms where provided.
* Ensure displays, products, and POS materials are set up properly and look great for customers.
Other Duties
* Build positive relationships with store managers, in‑store teams, and internal support teams.
* Support new initiatives and help the team adapt to new ways of working.
* Look for opportunities to improve processes, execution quality, and the overall colleague experience.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong planning, organization, and time‑management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coach field‑based colleagues.
* Clear and confident communicator, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external partners.
* Previous retail, merchandising, or customer service experience.
* Confident using mobile and desktop systems for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
