Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing - EN3 Location: Enfield (with occasional travel to other sites) Shifts: Monday to Friday - 9am to 5:30pm Pay: £17 an hour Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the smooth and continuous operation of our production sites. This role is key in ensuring all machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained to a high standard, minimising downtime and supporting the production of high-quality products in a safe and efficient environment. This position would suit a well-rounded technician with experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general building maintenance, who is also keen to develop their skills further. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on production equipment, including ovens, trollies, conveyor systems, and packaging machinery Diagnose and resolve equipment faults quickly to minimise downtime and disruption Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company standards Work closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities effectively Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, ensuring critical items are available when needed Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, efficiency, and safety Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues when required Provide general electrical and mechanical support and advice across the site Skills & Experience Minimum City & Guilds (C&G) qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering Proven experience working in a maintenance environment, ideally within manufacturing Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across a range of machinery Apprenticeship training (desirable) Proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to learn and develop Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to use a range of tools and complete required documentation accurately Working Conditions Primarily based at the Enfield site, with occasional travel to other locations Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and overtime when required Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment Full PPE provided Physical Requirements Ability to work in a physically demanding environment Comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, and both indoors and outdoors Additional Benefits (via The Best Connection) Weekly pay 28 days holiday (pro rata) NEST pension scheme 24/7 mobile support Access to a new mobile app with additional services The Best Connection is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
