We are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and supportive team within a special needs provision for primary-aged children. This role involves working across different classes, providing one-to-one and group support to children with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
?? Key Responsibilities:
* Support the learning and development of pupils with a variety of complex needs
* Work across different classrooms to offer targeted assistance where needed
* Implement individual learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
* Provide personal care and physical support for pupils with PMLD
* Use a range of communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables
* Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm and proactive manner
* Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
? Requirements:
* Proven experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
* Confidence and competence supporting children with PMLD, including personal care
* Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, and a range of additional needs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Resilient, adaptable, and emotionally intelligent
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent) are desirable
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
�? Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience with manual handling and use of hoists
* Basic understanding of sensory integration strategies
* First Aid and/or Team Teach training
