There’s a strong emphasis on developing yourself through training and progression, including opportunities to specialise in different areas.
What we are looking for
No typical prison officer background is required. Our people come from diverse walks of life. Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, have worked in retail or the armed forces, you’ll have developed empathy, self-confidence and excellent communication skills. You’ll need to demonstrate integrity, resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
You will be expected to demonstrate the qualities needed to succeed in this role and be prepared to work as part of a team to ensure safety and support for staff and offenders alike.
