The Design Engineer role is responsible for supporting business strategy, delivering profitable, organic growth and continuous improvement, by interacting with customers, interpreting technical specifications, and converting these into a world class product or service.
The Design Engineer role is part of the Design Engineering team and involves working collaboratively with Project Management, Operations/Production, Quality and Supply Chain departments.

Job Description
* Design and engineer flow control components considering pressure, temperature, and environmental factors.
* Conduct engineering analyses, calculations, and qualification/test planning for product validation.
* Review and interpret FEA, CFD, and physical test data.
* Ensure compliance with military, government, and internal quality and safety standards.
* Support the full engineering lifecycle from concept and bid to production and testing.
* Select appropriate materials and oversee product and compliance testing.
* Develop prototypes and perform functional/environmental validation.
* Troubleshoot failures and implement design improvements.
* Produce engineering documentation, drawings (BS8888), and reports.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration.
* Maintain MRP/PDM data and report progress to stakeholders.
* Manage time, cost, and risk within project budgets.
* Drive continuous improvement and innovation
Design Engineer
Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
* Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, Naval/Marine etc)
* 5+ years’ experience in a relevant field
* Experience in creating engineering calculations and design/product validation
* Experience draughting to BS8888 standards
* Skilled in 3D mechanical design (SolidWorks preferred)
