Band 8a Pharmacist – Acute Hospital (Ward-Based)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:45 AM – 17:00 Pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Until 31st December 2025
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite Only
Pay Rate: £26.42/hour – Standard, £42.27/hour – Bank Holidays
Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Band 8a Pharmacist to support an Acute Hospital. This is a ward-based position for 11 weeks, offering the opportunity to contribute to patient care across multiple specialities including the following:
* General Medicine
* Surgery
* Orthopaedics
This is a hands-on clinical role requiring confident decision-making and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Medicines reconciliation
* Clinical review of patients
* Making appropriate clinical interventions
* Processing discharge prescriptions
* Working with electronic prescribing systems
* Collaborating closely with ward staff and the wider MDT
Essential Requirements
* GPhC-registered Pharmacist
* Previous acute hospital experience (essential)
* Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work independently
* Proficient in electronic prescribing and discharge processes
