Rate: £300 per day
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a key project within the utilities sector. This is a temporary contract role, offering a competitive daily rate and the opportunity to work on essential high-voltage infrastructure.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for carrying out electrical and mechanical fitting activities on high-voltage switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment. The role involves installation, maintenance, and fault-finding across a range of HV and LV systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform electrical fitting on HV switchgear, transformers, and control/protection equipment
· Install earthing systems and outdoor equipment including bus bars, disconnectors, and switchgear
· Conduct maintenance and fault diagnosis on high- and low-voltage equipment
· Adhere to health and safety protocols, including manual handling procedures
· Work in accordance with high-voltage documentation and industry standards
Essential Skills & Certifications:
· Proven experience working with high-voltage electrical systems
· NG Persons certification
· Manual handling certification
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
· Ability to interpret technical documents and schematics
Desirable Skills:
· Previous experience in the utilities or power distribution sector
· Familiarity with outdoor HV installation and maintenance
