About the Role:
Grow your career and plant the seeds of success with a global leader, driving innovation in soft fruit production. We are searching for a Soft Fruit Advisor to join our client's small, dedicated, and highly motivated UK-based team. This role involves delivering high-quality, independent technical advice to leading soft fruit growers across the UK, with a particular emphasis on the South East region. As part of a global organisation, you’ll be in a unique position to facilitate the rapid transfer of real-time research and development insights within this dynamic and fast-evolving sector. Operating remotely, you will be expected to demonstrate both strong teamwork and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree, possess BASIS and FACTS certifications, and bring several years of experience in technical advisory roles within the horticultural or agricultural sectors.
Responsibilities:
* To provide growers with customised advice aimed at optimising the operating result
* To apply your technical expertise and practical insight to help identify opportunities and challenges for growers, providing timely, valuable support that makes a real difference
* To be involved in the technical side of cultivation, such as advice on fertilisation, crop protection, and storage
* To act as a sounding board concerning business matters such as sales, legislation, regulations and strategy
Qualifications:
* Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject
* A thorough working knowledge of soil and substrate-based soft fruit production systems
* To have several years of experience in advisory work
* To be able to demonstrate the ability to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative
* To possess BASIS/FACTS qualifications
* A valid passport, UK residency and a full UK driver’s license
Required Skills:
* Essential:
* Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject
* A thorough working knowledge of soil and substrate-based soft fruit production systems
* To have several years of experience in advisory work
* To be able to demonstrate the ability to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative
* To possess BASIS/FACTS qualifications
* A valid passport, UK residency and a full UK driver’s license
* Desirable:
* Glasshouse and nursery production knowledge
