About the Company



Ocean’s housing portfolio is the market leader in housing, spanning both events and digital. Its Conferences & Awards division serves as the events arm of the UK housing sector’s two leading trade publications, Inside Housing and Social Housing. The division organises three of the most prestigious awards in the sector—the Housing Heroes Awards (co-located with the Women in Housing Awards), Unlock Net Zero Live Awards, and Inside Housing Development Awards—alongside eight one-day conferences and four large-scale exhibitions. These events play a vital role in bringing the entire housing sector together to discuss the latest developments, share best practices, and drive learning and innovation across the industry.



About the Role



The Senior Marketing Executive will be responsible for implementing the marketing strategy and delivery for our awards and conference portfolio. This role is pivotal in driving award entries, table sales, delegate attendance and overall revenue growth. The Senior Marketing Executive will work closely with the operations team, commercial managers, editorial and production colleagues to ensure seamless event execution while creating exceptional experiences for attendees.



Responsibilities



Audience Development & Event Marketing

* Drive entries and delegate attendance by developing strategies to boost participation and ensure targets are met.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to devise proactive plans to achieve entry and revenue goals.
* Identify and implement innovative approaches to grow delegate numbers and enhance the attendee experience.
* Analyse awards entries to uncover trends, successes, and opportunities for new categories, working with editorial and commercial teams to increase year-on-year revenue.
* Oversee production timelines, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
* Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive entries and delegate sales.
* Manage table sales to meet revenue targets.
* Work closely with the wider marketing team and external designers to produce event collateral, including e-tickets, presentations, certificates, place cards, and brochures.
* Contact existing and potential clients by email, phone or social media for example, to drive award entries, attendance and conference participation.


Campaign Management

* Plan and implement detailed direct marketing and telesales campaigns tailored to each event.
* Create and manage campaign schedules to ensure all deadlines are met.
* Collaborate with production on messaging, branding, and content to clearly communicate the event’s value proposition.
* Maintain and update sales tools, including media packs and presentations.
* Manage advertising fulfilment, direct mail, email campaigns, and social media initiatives.
* Oversee database growth and segmentation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Build and maintain long-term partnerships with industry marketing partners and associations.
* Manage marketing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.


Digital Marketing & Analytics

* Develop and implement social media campaigns targeting key audiences.
* Leverage digital marketing to generate delegate and sponsorship sales.
* Monitor campaign performance and optimize budget allocation to maximize ROI.
* Where relevant work with digital agencies to drive website traffic through SEO, PPC, and other digital strategies.
* Produce regular reports on campaign effectiveness and key performance indicators (KPIs).


Planning & Analysis

* Develop marketing plans to attract delegates, award entries and attendees while staying within agreed budgets.
* Continuously assess and improve marketing efficiency, embracing testing and innovation.
* Identify and leverage cross-marketing opportunities across the broader housing portfolio.


Reporting & Evaluation

* Produce campaign performance reports, post-event analyses, and ad hoc reporting for stakeholders.
* Evaluate awards, delegate, visitor, and sponsor feedback to inform future strategies.
* Collate attendee data and feedback, producing evaluation reports and follow-up communications.
* Reconcile budgets, chase outstanding invoices, and ensure accurate billing.
* Conduct post-event analysis of entries, revenue, and awards performance against KPIs.

Qualifications


* Passion for creating exceptional events and delivering a superior customer experience.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in B2B events marketing; awards experience is desirable but not essential.
* Proven ability to take ownership of projects and lead initiatives.
* Strong project planning, organisational, and implementation skills.
* Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and contracts.
* Skilled in database management, segmentation, and Excel.
* Proficient in digital marketing, including email, social media, PPC, SEO, and website CMS management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting experience.
* Unafraid to pick up the phone and engage with clients.
* Ability to prioritise workload, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines under pressure.
* Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and collaborative with a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent administrative skills.
