About the Role
A well-established college in Burton-on-Trent is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Plumbing Lecturer / Trainer to join their construction department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced plumbing professional looking to move into education, or an existing lecturer seeking a new challenge within a supportive and well-resourced college environment.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and practical training to students studying plumbing qualifications, helping them develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for successful careers in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging classroom and workshop-based plumbing lessons
* Teach students working towards recognised plumbing qualifications (Level 1-3)
* Support learners in developing practical plumbing skills and industry knowledge
* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
* Maintain accurate student records and contribute to course development
* Ensure teaching meets awarding body standards and health & safety requirements
* Support and motivate students to achieve their full potential
Requirements
* Industry experience as a qualified plumber
* Relevant plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A passion for supporting and developing learners
A teaching qualification (such as AET, PTLLS, or PGCE) is desirable but not essential, as the college can support the successful candidate in gaining the required teaching qualification.
