What's involved with this role: [1 ST INSERT] Temporary Facilities Support Assistant – Resources Job Ref: Sheffield TCL 0008 B8E8 / 1 Pay Rate: £12.00 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 1 month City: Sheffield, South Yorkshire The Facilities Support Officer will be a member of a facilities Management team responsible for caretaking duties and providing general facilities management for premises. Key Responsibilities: Act as a designated key holder and open/lock the site to maintain the security by securing entrances and exits as appropriate and reporting potential security breaches. Develop and implement local procedures to maintain site security for example key holding, emergency response, opening and locking, lettings, CCTV systems etc. Perform duties as delegated and implement local procedures to contribute to the overall statutory compliance programme; for example, water temperatures, purging outlets, fire call point testing etc. Be responsible for delivering activity described in the Asset Management Plan within an agreed time period. Audit premises and provide positive/negative feedback to line manager and other Facilities Management staff re standards and performance. Deliver a defined and planned preventative maintenance programme to include routine inspections of; fixtures, fittings, furniture and grounds to assess for day to day repairs. Be competent in carrying out general maintenance tasks including day to day repairs and programmed work following specified policies and procedures. Provide day to day cleaning of a designated area either working alone or as part of a team in conjunction with the relevant cleaning specification. Carry out emergency cleaning as and when required which may include obnoxious waste for vomit, urine etc. Produce risk assessments and safety method statements including the safe storage of chemicals and carrying out routine basic maintenance on tools and equipment. Play an active role in the Health and Safety audits of the premises and follow up actions to agreed timescales. Complete assessments and relevant documentation, to allow site maintenance to be carried out safely by in house or third party persons in accordance with SCC procedures. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and codes of practice in relation to facilities management. Working knowledge of relevant premises polices/codes of practice/legislation specific to work environment. Knowledge/experience of heating mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to supervise and monitor a team to achieve set targets. Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders including explaining technical issues to non technical people. Ability to prioritise a demanding workload with limited resources to a challenging timetable. Ability to contribute to the planning, managing, profiling of budgets related to the premises in conjunction with the senior management team. Ability to provide clear concise reporting in relation to premises matters. Demonstrate and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures. Ability to develop/implement systems and procedures to support premise related functions. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
