Finance Business Partner Contract: Permanent, Full time, 35 hours per week Location: BCHG Head Office- 134 High Street, Blackheath, West Midlands, B65 0EE (Hybrid Working) Salary: £54,509.50 per annum Overview: BCHG are looking for a Finance Business Partner to work with our business areas to interrogate data and trends, to provide high quality financial and non-financial reporting information and to seek VFM and drive improvements. Our ideal candidate should be a qualified Accountant who demonstrates professionalism and integrity, is results driven, detail orientated and able to communicate well and build effective relationships. The postholder will be responsible for managing a member of staff, therefore management experience is required. Systems knowledge and social housing experience are desirable. Job Description: Duties of the role include, but are not limited to: To provide monthly management accounts and other financial information to Service Managers. To undertake a monthly review of the year end forecast in conjunction with Service Managers. To support managers through the annual budget setting process and ensure that appropriate and reliable assumptions and estimates are used. To prepare the annual statutory financial statements and working papers. To set and review housing rents for properties upon re-let. To ensure statutory, regulatory and other returns are completed accurately and on a timely basis. To be the technical expert/source for accounting treatment decisions. To take a continuous improvement approach to data collection and KPI provision, ensuring that core data is reliable and fit for purpose. To effectively lead, manage, motivate and develop staff ensuring a skilled, professional and courteous service to stakeholders, senior managers and client departments. To be an integral part of any new system or project implementation as required, ensuring it meets the needs of BCHG and adds value either in terms of capacity or in the management information it provides. To be responsible for VAT and Tax accounting and returns. To lead and coordinate the annual statutory accounts year end process. To prepare monthly balance sheets and cash flow statements including forecasts. Person Specification: Essential: Fully qualified accountant. Relevant demonstratable experience in a finance position. Knowledge of accounting software and systems. Good presentation skills, with experience of engaging with and presenting reports to senior executives and non-finance experts. Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal formats. Excellent ICT skills, including Microsoft Office, and be an advanced Excel user. Experience of managing other colleagues and working within a team. Desirable: Experience of working in a social housing finance team or similar environment.
