Bid Writer – Job Description Department: Commercial Reports to: Head of Bid Management Location: Hybrid – with flexibility for remote working Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 About us: We are a UK-based organisation specialising in cyber security, managed security, and digital forensics services, supporting clients across both public and private sectors. We are seeking a motivated and capable Bid Writer to join our Commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a bid professional with 3 years of experience who is looking to develop their career within the Cyber Security and Digital Forensics sector. You will play a key role in producing high-quality written proposals that support our growth ambitions across a wide range of services, including Penetration Testing, Managed Security Services, and Risk Management. Working closely with the Bid Manager and Head of Bid Management, you will help deliver persuasive, compliant, and well-structured tenders that showcase our technical expertise and value to clients. Key Responsibilities Support the end-to-end bid process, coordinating input from technical, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure timely and compliant submissions. Produce compelling, well-structured, and customer-focused written content for PQQs, ITTs, and RFPs. Monitor and manage the tenders inbox, logging new opportunities and assisting with the bid/no-bid decision process. Assist in developing win strategies and value propositions under the guidance of the Head of Bid Management and Bid Manager. Maintain and improve the bid library, including case studies, CVs, and template responses. Conduct research into competitors, market trends, and client requirements to inform bid narratives. Track and report on bid progress, supporting the analysis of performance metrics and lessons learned. Ensure all content aligns with our brand and strategic messaging. Person Specification 3 years’ experience in bid writing, preferably within Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, or IT Services. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proven ability to produce clear, concise, and persuasive bid content. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong time management and organisational skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines. Confident using Microsoft Office, submission portals, and CRM tools. Able to translate complex technical input into clear, client-focused narratives. Familiarity with public sector procurement processes advantageous. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to developing their career within bid management.
