Overview
Department Coordinator - Clarkston Campus. Perimeter College, Georgia State University is seeking a dedicated Department Coordinator to support the department chair, faculty, and staff at the Clarkston Campus.
Responsibilities
* Serve as liaison to the department chair, associate chair, and/or assistant chair on all communications and correspondence and act as the first point of contact for the department's front office functions.
* Provide administrative support to the department chair(s), department administrator(s), faculty, and staff, including answering phones, providing referral and navigation assistance to university offices, copying and filing, retrieving information, preparing agendas, records and minutes, providing accreditation support, handling packages, maintaining contact lists, printing fund and swipe card access requests, and other duties as designated by the department.
* Collect and maintain departmental records (e.g., syllabi, academic dishonesty forms, student concerns, reinstatements, end-of-semester grade reports).
* Submit and track transactions to administrative and academic services teams (e.g., Panthermart transactions, PTI agreements, vendor invoices and payments, Faculty Activity Portal, Foundation disbursements, faculty overload forms). Provide support to the business manager as needed.
* Process travel expense payments (travel, lodging, meals) and guide faculty on the travel reimbursement process; may facilitate arrangements on behalf of department administrators.
* Schedule and reserve meeting rooms, audiovisual equipment, and other communications media for department staff; coordinate college-wide space reservations with PC Facilities.
* Assist in planning departmental, campus, and college-wide meetings and special events (e.g., conferences, award ceremonies, testing sites, commencement, Faculty Development Day, Staff Development Day, Bennekin symposium).
* Assist with emergency coordination for the department and participate in emergency preparedness activities as needed.
* Support the department/office website (collect information/content, review pages) and report updates and corrections to PR MARCOMM.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree and one year of administrative experience; or high school diploma or GED and five years of administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
