Team: Product Location: Paddington, London Employment status: Full-time Reporting to: Product Manager Working week: Monday-Friday About Hyperlayer Hyperlayer is a B2B product company, building a platform to revolutionise the world of payments. Hyperlayer transforms digital wallets into smart wallets that change the way people, and businesses, spend money. Wallets powered by Hyperlayer let consumers withdraw money from multiple accounts with a single tap, for a specific purpose. Our platform enables capabilities such as connecting specific accounts with targeted brand spending, it gives merchants and customers access to cutting-edge rewards, and since spending is social, Hyperlayer supports group saving, sharing and spending. All in one platform. Hyperlayer is working with large retailers and financial institutions. Our product introduces innovation to these industries to create solutions: helping consumers, families, and groups improve their financial wellbeing by making their money go further. About the role: We are expanding our Developer experience & Documentation team and are looking for skilled and experienced API Technical Writer. We are looking for a hands-on professional who thrives at the intersection of Product, Technology and customer needs, and who can champion best-in-class documentation strategies for a rapidly scaling platform, so you will need to have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience to be considered for a role. The ideal candidate will have deep empathy for developers and integrators, a proven track record synthesizing complex technical information into actionable content, and experience building and maintaining developer documentation at scale. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive documentation for our products, APIs, and platform integrations including conceptual overviews, step-by-step guides, API reference materials, and troubleshooting resources. Collaborate proactively with Engineering, Product Management, Partnerships, and Delivery teams to understand technical solutions, integration patterns, and customer requirements. Interview subject-matter experts to extract knowledge, building deep expertise in our financial services and orchestration ecosystem. Translate complex banking and API concepts into clear, concise, and engaging documentation tailored to diverse technical audiences, from developers and platform partners to business analysts. Define, evolve, and advocate for documentation standards, style guides, templates, and best practices, establishing a scalable documentation “guild” across the organization. Evaluate, implement, and optimize docs-as-code toolchains (Markdown, OpenAPI/Swagger, YAML, version control, static site generators) that support continuous delivery and content quality. Champion a user-centered approach by gathering and analysing user feedback, anticipating developer pain points, and iteratively improving content. Develop and deliver multimedia content (tutorials, visuals, interactive content, and videos) to support comprehensive onboarding and product adoption. Support product launches with high-quality technical content, including release notes and integration guides. Drive innovation in technical communication, experimenting with emerging documentation formats and delivery methods. You should apply if you have: 3-5 years’ experience as a technical writer in fast-paced software, fintech, or API-focused environments. Demonstrated expertise in creating developer documentation, especially for APIs and platform products. Hands-on experience with docs-as-code workflows (Markdown, YAML, OpenAPI/Swagger, Git, content automation). Strong technical acumen—able to quickly understand and communicate complex software and integration concepts with attention to clarity, accuracy, and usability. Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with engineering, product, and partner teams. Deep empathy for developer/end-user experience and a passion for championing documentation improvements. Exceptional written and visual communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and consistency. Adaptability and initiative in managing multiple priorities and projects in a fast-moving environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in B2B fintech, financial services, SaaS, or platform-based solutions. Exposure to enterprise integration, API onboarding, and developer advocacy. Ability to create tutorials and multimedia instructional content. Experience in both startup and large-scale organizational settings.
