Teach the full primary curriculum, including core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Foundation subjects, in a manner that is both interactive and challenging. Use a range of teaching strategies, including practical activities and technology, to promote active learning and ensure high levels of student engagement. Assessment and Progress : Regularly assess and track the progress of students, using a variety of methods, to monitor their development and inform your teaching practice. Provide constructive, formative feedback to students and adapt lesson plans based on their individual needs and learning styles. Set clear targets for students and support them in achieving their personal and academic goals. Classroom Management : Establish clear and consistent rules for classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a productive, respectful, and safe classroom atmosphere. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development alongside their academic progress. Collaboration and Teamwork : Work collaboratively with colleagues in the primary school team to plan cross-curricular activities and share teaching strategies. Participate in school meetings, training, and collaborative planning sessions. Maintain open lines of communication with parents and carers to keep them informed about student progress and school events. Personal Development : Continue to develop professionally by attending training sessions and workshops relevant to your practice. Stay up to date with the latest educational trends, strategies, and practices to ensure that teaching methods remain innovative and effective. Personal Specification: Qualifications : A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) is essential. Experience : Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (preferably in a primary school setting). A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 curriculum and pedagogical approaches is crucial. Experience working with children with a range of learning needs, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). Skills and Attributes : Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive, inclusive environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues. A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching, with a passion for helping children to succeed. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons efficiently. Ability to assess and monitor student progress and differentiate teaching methods accordingly. Flexible, adaptable, and able to meet the needs of diverse learners in a changing school environment.
