We're looking for a Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to lead the electrical delivery of a flagship MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) healthcare project in Plymouth, valued at £48 million. Role Responsibilities -Project Management: Oversee all electrical contract elements, ensuring alignment with programme goals, budgets, and milestones. -Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed project plans and schedules. Collaborate closely with MEP disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders. -Resource Management: Allocate labour, materials, and equipment effectively to achieve project objectives. -Quality Assurance: Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant standards and regulations. Conduct inspections and audits to guarantee high-quality work. -Safety Compliance: Enforce robust health and safety practices, addressing risks proactively. -Financial Oversight: Monitor and control expenditure, providing accurate financial and progress reports. -Risk Management: Identify risks and implement effective mitigation and contingency plans. -Client Relations: Act as the main client contact, delivering progress updates and ensuring satisfaction. -Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including permits, contracts, change orders, and reports. -Team Leadership: Lead and mentor engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and performance excellence. Required Qualifications -Experience: Significant experience in electrical engineering and project management, with a track record of delivering large-scale MEP projects (healthcare sector experience desirable). -Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, BS 7671 wiring regulations, and relevant codes. Proficiency in project management tools/software. -Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse teams in high-pressure project environments. -Communication: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. -Problem-Solving: Excellent decision-making ability to manage complex project challenges. -Attention to Detail: Rigorous focus on compliance, safety, and quality standards. Core Electrical Qualifications -236 Part 1 & 2 Electrical Installation (or equivalent). -18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) - essential for compliance and safety. -City & Guilds 2391 - Inspection & Testing certification. -JIB Gold Card (Approved Electrician status). Certifications (Preferred/Advantageous) -SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) - required for site management. -PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 - advantageous for structured delivery. -NEC3/NEC4 Contract Training - desirable for public sector and healthcare projects.
