As a planning Journalist on the team that makes business content for the award-winning BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One, you'll be able to get your original content seen by millions of people every day. We're a small but dynamic team that prides ourselves on the quality of our output - from the day-to-day graphic segments on BBC Breakfast to big set piece outside broadcasts for key events like the Budget.,
* We need a talented storyteller who can tell complicated stories in an accessible and creative way.
* You'll be comfortable finding and persuading real people directly affected by big economic changes to tell their stories.
* Your main role will be planning for our daily output: writing briefs, setting up and carrying out filming, and working on outside broadcasts.
* You will also have the opportunity to plan and produce our set-piece broadcasts for big events like the Budget.
Strong organisation skills: able to juggle multiple complex tasks at the same time while under pressure.
* Proven experience and ability to research and fact-check complex topics.
* Excellent communication skills: able to persuade people to tell their stories.
* Creative: able to come up with lots of original ideas and suitable TV treatments for them., TV experience is desirable but not essential
* Experience of, or a keen interest in, money and work journalism is important. You'll have an inquiring mind and be keen to learn. We're a friendly, knowledgeable team at Money and Work, and will help you to fill in the gaps in your knowledge
* Experience of working with crews to gather content and writing scripts.
* Proficient in Wolftech and Openmedia
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
