We are recruiting a Senior Materials Engineer to support manufacturing operations within a multi-disciplinary laboratory environment. What We Offer: Working hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm 25 days annual leave bank holidays Incentive and recognition programs On-site restaurant, free parking 6% matched pension, life assurance Employee Assistance Programme Discounts on a wide range of goods and services Key Responsibilities: Provide materials engineering support to ensure processes and components meet performance requirements Conduct technical investigations using a range of failure analysis techniques Interpret and resolve technical manufacturing problems Perform material and assembly failure analysis, Prepare detailed technical reports for internal stakeholders Manage and operate laboratory equipment (e.g. polishing/grinding tools, optical microscopes, SEM) Contribute to lab analysis with hands-on technical support Experience & Skills Required: Proven experience in materials analysis within an electronic manufacturing environment Skilled in micro-section analysis, light microscopy, SEM and EDX interpretation Strong understanding of brazing, welding, and high-temperature joining techniques Familiarity with vacuum electronic components and failure modes (preferred) Knowledge of metallurgy for copper, nickel-copper alloys, steels, and braze materials Adhesive selection and property analysis experience Ability to assess technical drawings for manufacturing feasibility Experience in both mechanical and non-destructive testing methods If you're passionate about materials science and thrive on solving technical challenges in a dynamic lab setting, we'd love to hear from you.
