Our team and the individual you'll support
As a Support Practitioner you'll become part of a friendly team who provides invaluable support to a young gentleman who has autism and lives in his own home.
You'll build a genuine relationship with him and be part of moments that really matter; whether it's providing support to cook a meal, achieve a goal, try something new or just feel understood.
In addition to supporting with all aspects of his daily living, you'll also support him with his hobbies and interests too, including swimming, walking, going to the golf range, outings, going for meals and drives in the car.
Being a Support Practitioner is more than just a job, there's no better feeling than going home after every shift knowing that you've made a positive difference in someone's life.
About You
You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and SSSC registration fees too!
As the gentleman that we support has his own mobility car, we will need you to hold a full manual driving license for this particular opportunity.
All we’ll need you to bring is: -
1. A full manual driving licence as this gentleman has his own mobility car
2. Confidence to support in the water as swimming is a regular activity.
3. Good listening and communication skills.
4. A caring attitude and approach.
5. A positive approach to learning.
6. An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines.
7. Confidence in the use of computers.
Shift Patterns
As we're dedicated to providing the best 24/7 support possible, shift patterns for this team will usually fall into patterns of Monday-Friday - or - hours (includes a sleepover) and weekend shifts on a rotational basis; -, - and - hours (includes a sleepover).
The sleepover part of a sleepover shift is not included in your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional £.80 for each sleepover worked.
