Description Wood is currently recruiting for a site based Construction Engineer - Lifting (contract). The role will be working at the Redcar site on an energy transition project. The Role As a Construction Lifting Engineer based on site you will be responsible for overseeing the heavy lifting activities of contractors on site and execution of associated activities including all transportation. Responsibilities Co-ordinate EPC / EPCm contractors and their appointed heavy lift and transportation contractors on site in the execution of heavy lift and transportation activities In conjunction with Construction Managers review and support the development of contractor schedules for heavy lift and transportation activities Oversee all contractor site lifting and heavy transportation activity checking for compliance with regulatory standards and procedures, including those in place for the worksite In conjunction with Module and Transport SMEs, oversee route and site preparations for the movement and placement of process and utility modules In conjunction with Construction Managers support contractor Constructability and HAZCON reviews Provide technical support to aid site lifting and heavy transportation activities Carry out regular reviews of site lifting and heavy transportation workload, operator and plant utilisation, and workforce requirements to ensure the adequacy and efficiency of the site team Ensure contractors have in place all the required in-date certification and test records to comply with safety and quality assurance requirements Review Contractors Lifting and Transportation method statements and risk assessments, and ensure that they comply with Company Procedures, International Standards, and safe working practices (e.g. Loler, BS7121) Ensure field heavy lift and transport operations are fully supported by the timely supply of the latest approved for construction (AFC) drawings, specifications, and procedures Ensure Permits to Work are in place and supported by current and complete documentation Where required, participate in the selection and approval of construction contractors appointed to undertake work Where required, support route surveys by specialist transport contractor As appropriate, participate and maintain contact with the UK PRJ HO Construction Department, outside industry committees, and other professional bodies Allocate man-hour liquidation’s effectively against budgets Ensure that the project achieves its objectives in respect of HSSE, quality, cost, and schedule Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: Extensive experience as a Lifting Engineer in construction PMC / IPMT construction experience in the energy industry Must have demonstrable experience with the operation and management of crawler cranes (>1000t with super lift) and experience in the operation of strand jack / tower lift systems Desirable: CPCS Appointed Person A61 Blue Card preferred, although Red Card applications will be considered
