An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated librarian or knowledge and information specialist to join the Knowledge & Library Service team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will play a key role in the delivery of high quality knowledge & library services to all staff and learners at the Trust and contracted organisations.
The post is based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary with a requirement to work at other sites at least two days per month (a shuttle bus is available). The post is a part time (22.5hr), fixed-term maternity cover for 12 months. Happy to consider it as a secondment opportunity.
Main duties of the job
* To play a key role in the delivery of high quality knowledge & library services to all staff and students at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and contracted organisations
* To mobilise knowledge, information and research evidence to support evidence-based patient care, clinical and managerial decision making, service improvement, clinical governance, research, education and continuing professional development.
* To deliver proactive Knowledge & Library services, promoting resources and services to a wide range of NHS staff; conducting complex literature searches, synthesising and summarising evidence; providing end-users training to use resources effectively, and facilitating the exchange and sharing of knowledge by NHS teams across Doncaster.
* To be responsible for the day to day running of the library including line management responsibility for the Knowledge & Library Assistants.
* To have lead responsibility for the Knowledge & Library Service resources collection, facilitating and promoting access to a range of resources for all library users.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Demonstrative experience in a library or information environment
* Experience of literature searching
* Extensive knowledge and experience of a wide range of resources needed to support education and evidence-based practice
* Experience of supervising staff
* Experience of using a library management system
* Experience of delivering training to individuals or small groups
* Experience of delivering services virtually and in person across a wide geography using appropriate technologies
Qualifications & Training
* Postgraduate qualification or degree in Librarianship/Information science/Knowledge Management studies or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Chartership of Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals or equivalent
Personal Attributes & Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff both internally and externally
* Ability to work on own initiative/unsupervised
* Ability to understand an absorb information and resolve problems
