We are recruiting for a Pressure Tester and Lab Technician. You will also do inspection Description
We are looking to recruit a Lab and Pressure Testing Technician to carry out lab work and pressure testing as required. To undertake aspects of quality control to thermal sprayed components. To assist with quality assurance matters.
Responsibilities
Laboratory:
▪ Organise and undertake the day to day running of the metallurgical laboratory
▪ Evaluation of Internal and customer specified coated samples, by performing the following: Microscopy Metallurgical inspection, Microhardness testing, bend testing, tensile testing and micro sampling
▪ Analyse and monitor lab data
▪ Produce laboratory reports
▪ Undertake control of corrosion testing (NSS) at external laboratories
▪ Review and control Lab test procedures against latest revisions of customer specifications
▪ Procure and control Lab test pieces and lab consumables
▪ Ensure Laboratory testing equipment are controlled and calibrated machines are operated according to site and manufacturers recommendations
Pressure Testing:
▪ Conduct pressure testing of coated samples and customer products
▪ Control, record and monitor all pressure test results
▪ Monitor and procure consumables for the Pressure Testing facility
▪ Organise and undertake the day to day running of the site Pressure Test systems
▪ Review findings with Technical department where applicable
Inspection (as required)
▪ Goods Inwards inspection of received product
▪ In process inspection of customer product
▪ Ensure compliance to customer Inspection procedures
▪ Control and release of final inspection operations
▪ Final inspection of components to ensure customer specification / drawing requirements are achieved
QHSE:
▪ Reporting of non-conformances
▪ Ensure compliance to Quality procedures
▪ Approved Signatory for Commercial work / Test Certificates
▪ In process test sampling
▪ Keep Site Quality Manager informed about site operations and obstacles/challenges
▪ Follow company health & safety procedures and disciplines
▪ Follow and comply with company environmental procedures
▪ Follow and Comply with all quality system requirements relevant to Job Description
▪ Keep the working environment clean and tidy and practise good housekeeping / 5S Techniques
▪ Work with the philosophy – IF IN DOUBT – ASK! AND NO SURPRISE ENVIRONMENT
▪ To maintain and check all calibrated equipment within the inspection area
▪ Amendments of Aventa documentation

Personal Profile
▪ Degree Level (desirable), A-levels & GCSE’s (incl. of Maths & English)
▪ Previous laboratory experience important
▪ Knowledge of hardness testing and mechanical testing
