As an Assistant Financial Accountant you will help to prepare the monthly accounts, complete journals, carry out account reconciliations and support budgeting, forecasting and other day to day tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
* Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
* Work collaboratively with the Shared Service Centre to ensure accruals, prepayments and postings are correct.
* Support budgeting and forecasting, providing analysis and insight to Finance Managers and budget holders.
* Assist with cost control, working closely with budget holders to monitor spend against targets.
* Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
* Support internal and external audits, responding to queries in a timely and accurate manner.
About You

* AAT qualification, an accountancy degree, or is qualified by experience (ideally studying or keen to study towards a professional qualification).
* Experience in industry accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables).
* Experience with accounting systems (Aurora or Microsoft AX experience is advantageous).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* A proactive, flexible and positive approach, with a strong sense of ownership.
