Junior Design Engineer - Heat Exchanger Technology

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Design Engineer to join our UK-based technology team developing next-generation heat exchanger solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in product design, modelling, and development within a global engineering environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support innovative solutions for applications including data centres, heat pumps, and hydrogen technologies.
What You Will Be Doing
Supporting the design and development of heat exchanger products.
Creating 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
Assisting with prototype development and initial manufacturing support.
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation.
Supporting product updates and improvements to existing designs.
Working closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and supply chain.
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhering to company standards, processes, and safety requirements.
Essential Criteria
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience using Autodesk Inventor (academic or industry).
Strong 3D modelling and technical drawing skills.
Understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. fabrication, machining, assembly).
Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate within a team.
Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Desirable Criteria
Placement year or internship experience in an engineering environment.
Exposure to thermal systems, heat exchangers, HVAC, or similar technologies.
Basic understanding of heat transfer principles.
Experience supporting prototype builds or manufacturing activities.
Familiarity with engineering change processes.
Knowledge of relevant engineering standards.
