The Company currently writes lines of business including; specialty insurance: aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, terror & political violence, contingency and other specialty lines; reinsurance: property reinsurance, property retrocession, specialty reinsurance, whole account/multi-class and bespoke.


Role Overview


Reporting to the Head of Underwriting – Global Credit, this role primarily supports the Underwriters / decision makers in the analysis and evaluation of complex credit portfolios and structured products. The focus is on delivering insightful analysis to help underwrite and manage a diverse range of innovative, tailored insurance solutions for banks, financial institutions, and other lenders.


Role Responsibilities


Analytical & Portfolio Support

* Performance Analysis: Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on existing portfolios to track performance and risk metrics.
* Reporting & Modelling: Generate monthly reports for internal/external partners and build financial models to monitor performance and forecast outcomes.
* Ownership and maintenance of analytical infrastructure
* Research & Strategy: Analyse market trends, economic indicators, and specific opportunities to support underwriting decisions
* Compliance & Risk: Monitor portfolios to ensure they remain within guidelines and obligations
* Scenario analysis and stress testing for structured products
* Contributing to innovation in numerical methods and model efficiency
* This is hands-on modelling role with strong business interaction and visibility


Skills & Experience


* Advanced knowledge of mathematics
* Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modelling
* Strong programming skills to create and design sophisticated reporting tools
* Familiarity with financial markets, products and instruments, as well as financial mathematics.
* Knowledge of financial risk management, portfolio theory and optimisation, and pricing models.
* Experience in data management, including data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis.
* Ability to work with databases and querying languages such as SQL
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with senior management and external stakeholders.
