Overview
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is offering opportunities for innovative and compassionate Midwives to join our existing midwifery team. We are seeking enthusiastic midwives who are passionate about providing high‑level care to all patients accessing our services. This role provides a supportive and caring environment and offers the chance to bring choice and support to all birthing women/people. Working with a close knit multidisciplinary team, you will provide both low and high risk care. This is a collaborative and supportive place to work.
We operate in Eastbourne and Hastings on the South East Coast of England, with access to seaside towns, the South Downs, and Kent. The hospital team is based at Conquest Hospital in Hastings.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based midwifery care for women/birthing people across low and high risk settings.
* Work within a close multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, cohesive, and collaborative care.
* Deliver holistic and individualised care, and support women/birthing people and their families throughout the perinatal period.
* Contribute to service development and drive forward innovative practice within the team.
* Engage in an excellent induction programme with a full preceptorship pathway for newly qualified midwives and ongoing development for experienced staff.
Qualifications and requirements
* Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
* Excellent communication skills; able to work confidently and autonomously within the team.
* Commitment to safe, cohesive, and collaborative working and to delivering compassionate care.
* Willingness to work across a variety of settings to provide holistic and individualised care.
