Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for a Looked After Child

Pay Range: £13.75 - £14.50 / hour.
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Looked After Child within our inclusive and nurturing school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to a Looked After Child, promoting engagement and progress across the curriculum.
* Build a trusting and consistent relationship to support emotional wellbeing and social development.
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external agencies to implement personalised learning strategies.
* Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
* Has experience working with children with additional needs, trauma-informed practice, or LAC.
* Is patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, supportive relationships.
* Can work collaboratively with staff and professionals to meet the child’s needs.
* Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above) – desirable but not essential.
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
