We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Oakham. HMP Stocken consists of 1285 adult males. The Pharmacy at HMP Stocken is not a dispensary pharmacy; there are 6 dispensary hatches within medication/administration points. The pharmacy team consists of a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, and a Dispenser.
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary and include:
1. Maintaining patient medical records to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
2. Ensuring the timely administration of medicines and analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
3. Collaborating to make a difference to all the people we support, and making Practice Plus Group a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged, and supported to do our best work in fulfilling the lives of others.
4. Communicating complex or sensitive information with empathy and understanding to patients.
5. Sharing information related to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation, and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team is appropriately informed.
If you are interested in career development, we offer a wide range of opportunities to develop your skills and experience, including internal and external options for learning. We also provide:
* Discounts on shopping and leisure activities
* Support to grow in your role and continue your professional development

We are looking for caring, compassionate, and driven professionals who can help us realize our vision for fair and inclusive healthcare access for all.
You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and a multidisciplinary team is also required.
Ability to work independently while following policies and procedures is essential. Experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment is desirable but not essential. Secure environments are challenging yet rewarding, offering opportunities to develop healthcare skills and learn continuously.
