Job Description
We’re looking for an R&D Team (Group) Manager to join our Central Systems (Software Development) Team in Cambridge, UK.

As an R&D Group Manager, you will manage a team of 8+ employees and be responsible for delivering software solutions developed by this team.

What you’ll do
You will manage and allocate work within the Central Systems team to execute innovation projects using an agile (scrum) framework. You will provide technical direction to advance relevant technology for the business.
* Responsible for delivering the Central Systems Roadmap
* Manage team competencies aligned with R&D strategy
* Oversee team resources, ensuring the right skills for projects
* Provide technical guidance and unblock team members on technical challenges
* Monitor and manage team progress & performance
* Drive Total Quality Management across all projects
* Ensure team training, coaching, motivation, development, and succession planning for critical roles
Your qualifications
* Experience in defining, managing, and delivering complex software projects in a business context
* Proven track record in managing delivery risks and relevant application areas
* Previous experience in people management, coaching, and leadership
* Expertise in developing software solutions using Python, Java, PHP, Angular UI, Restful APIs, and PostGreSQL, successfully launched as an individual or team contributor
