The Organisation
A responsible and progressive charity, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups of people across the UK; victims of domestic violence, ex-offenders, young people, people with mental health difficulties and those struggling with substance misuse. They are a well-established organisation with a positive market reputation and over 20 years of experience in supported living.
This company currently operates supported housing services for rehabilitating ex-offenders that have left a prison setting. The service ensures the development of independent living skills, positive wellbeing, and personal growth, working towards improving their lives and preventing reoffending.
The Opportunities
* Housing Support Workers will work full-time on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, involving 2 days shifts and 2 days off.
* Competitive pay rates; GBP19.54 (Umbrella) per hour, plus GBP0.45 per mile for travel between services.
* Contract length is initially 3 months with potential for extension or permanence.
* Based across Bristol.
* Flexible location for administrative work, with provided IT equipment.
The Responsibilities
* Visiting properties regularly to conduct support sessions with service users.
* Assisting clients with benefit claims, housing pathways, and signposting to local agencies.
* Supporting income management and tenancy sustainment.
* Managing housing and supporting clients in property maintenance, including liaising with contractors and managing void properties.
* Providing emotional support and monitoring clients' wellbeing.
* Supporting ex-offenders with housing management, support sessions, inspections, probation meetings, and health appointments.
* Planning and delivering support and safety plans, referring to specialists as needed.
* Ensuring properties are well-equipped, maintained, furnished, and clean.
* Helping residents understand responsibilities to maintain their accommodation and future housing options.
* Empowering clients to achieve their goals and develop move-on plans.
The Requirements:
* Must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and appropriate insurance.
* Experience supporting clients with complex needs is essential.
* Proactive, able to manage a caseload independently.
* Knowledge of social/supportive housing processes is essential.
* Ability to support tenancy sustainment and income management.
* Must have an enhanced DBS check (on the update service); HMPPS clearance required for adults.
The Desirables:
* Relevant training in housing or health and social care.
* Over 3 years' experience in a relevant healthcare or social care role.
* Understanding of housing law and frameworks for those with complex needs.
