Purpose of Role: Accountable for the accurate and compliant management of loading and offloading Cargo from all operational airports around the world. Accountable for the weight and balance including the correct loading of Dangerous Goods on every flight under their control. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities of the role: Accountable for managing the aircraft turnaround for off/onload, of the Cargo communicating and working closely with load control, the airport ramp and cargo handlers and the Flight Crew to ensure the correct sequence of the load Accountable for securing of load, optimising the operation with safety as the number one priority. Final sign off of load secure to the flight crew and act as the local ground operations representative while the aircraft is being serviced The Flying Loadmasters will oversee the planning and loading of the flights allocated, and produce required load plan within the weight and balance application on time to ensure operational performance in achieved, keeping the Flight Crew updated throughout the process Responsible for supporting the Chief Loadmaster in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the ground handling operations and loading procedures Responsible for providing training and support to Ground Service Providers in the safe loading of One Air aircraft Responsible for supporting the Chief Loadmaster in reviewing Special Cargo Considerations and working with the Cargo GSA as directed to ensure special loads are pre-notified and approved. That special loads are clearly articulated to the GHA at departure airport, and build and load instructions are clearly understood and adhered to Responsible for periodically producing manual loading instructions and load sheets to maintain competence with the manual back up procedures Accountable for acting as a flight manager for ad-hoc operations or special flights to ensure that safe operations are maintained at all times Responsible for acting as Ground Security Coordinator as prescribed by the Transport Security Administration, for flights operating within the United States of America or its territories Key skills, knowledge, Experience required: (i.e. those required to fulfil the role, including qualifications): Proven ability to plan and organise activities Excellent open and honest communication clear and concise delivered on a timely basis Must have a sound knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the operating Aircraft type to ensure the appropriate weight and balance is applied to loading and offloading Must have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable EU regulations with respect to Ground and Air Operations; and the Dangerous Goods regulations Required to have at least five years relevant work experience in a similar field Proven ability to work as part of a team and as a team leader One Air Values underlined by our Behaviours : Any additional relevant information: The post holder will be required to work shift pattens in accordance with flight time limitations across different time zones, work flexibly often unsocial hours being regularly away from base working overseas.
