Foundry Operator
Are you looking to start a career in manufacturing and recycling with excellent development opportunities? We are seeking a motivated Foundry Operator to join our client’s growing team in Congleton.
About the Role
This is an entry-level position in our client’s foundry team, focused initially on stacking and packaging aluminium ingot as it is poured from the furnace. Full training will be provided, with a clear development pathway for progression. Within 2–3 years, successful candidates can advance to senior furnace operative roles, operating all plant and equipment.
Shift Patterns:
You’ll work 12-hour shifts, either:
4 on / 4 off (6am–6pm, 2 days then 2 nights)
OR
Mon–Thu 06:00–18:00, then the following week Mon–Wed 18:00–06:00
Key Responsibilities if this Foundry Operator role:
Achieve daily production targets in line with team goals
Identify and report any faults, issues, or concerns affecting operational continuity, health & safety, or environmental compliance
Conduct pre-shift checks and ensure processes are maintained within agreed parameters
Accurately record production data and operational information
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
Follow all company systems, policies, and procedures
Participate in training and development programmesSkills and qualities required for this Foundry Operator role:
Proactive and flexible approach to work
Able to work well within a team
Experience operating machinery in manufacturing, recycling, or engineering
Experience operating mobile plant such as counterbalance forklifts or loading shovels

Competitive salary rate with shift premium: starting at £26,500 rising to £32,944 after initial training (inclusive of shift allowance), with potential to reach £38,244 after 2–3 years
