Job Ref: HP-2867Stafford, United KingdomCompetitivePower GridsContractHVDC Quality Engineer - Onshore HVDC Project - Stafford, England, UK - £Excellent Day Rate - 12 Month Contract - May Start Date - Inside IR35 - 45 Hours P/W - Hybrid RoleI’m currently supporting a leading global OEM on the delivery of a major onshore HVDC transmission project, and we’re looking to bring in an experienced Project Quality Engineer to play a key role across the full EPC lifecycle.This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a flagship infrastructure project driving grid reinforcement and renewable energy integration.The Role:As Project Quality Engineer, you’ll be at the centre of quality delivery - ensuring that engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You’ll act as a key interface between contractors, suppliers, site teams, and project leadership, helping to embed a strong and proactive quality culture throughout.Responsibilities:Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, ITPs, and project-specific procedures in line with EPC requirementsOversee QA/QC across HV equipment, converter stations, civil works, mechanical installations, and control & protection systemsConduct supplier and subcontractor audits to ensure compliance with quality and contractual obligationsLead NCR processes, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actionsDrive a structured Lessons Learned programme across all project phasesSupport FATs, SATs, inspections, and commissioning activities with full documentation and traceabilityCollaborate across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to embed quality throughout deliveryMonitor and report on quality KPIs, risks, and continuous improvement initiativesRequirements:Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering disciplineStrong experience in quality engineering on large, complex, safety-critical projectsSolid understanding of EPC quality frameworks and ISO 9001 (HVDC/IEC experience beneficial)Proven track record in NCR management, supplier quality, and root cause analysisAbility to influence multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvementStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsInterested?
