Our client - an excelling freight forwarding and logistics organisation, with management of regular commercial freight logistics and specialising in providing comprehensive services for the movement of high- niche market products are looking for an Ocean Freight Manager – Perishables to join their team in the London Heathrow Office.

Role Overview of the Ocean Freight Manager – Perishables:
Responsible for the overall P&L of the perishables ocean freight department, ensuring budget targets are met while driving growth, innovation and outstanding customer service.
Main Purpose of the Ocean Freight Manager – Perishables:
* Manage and oversee daily import & export operations, ensuring KPI achievement and smooth performance during weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
* Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
* Ensure accurate and timely customs clearances, including AEO compliance and weekend coverage.
* Maintain SOPs for all regular accounts; ensure quotes are properly recorded in TMS
* Manage supplier relationships, negotiate competitive rates, and keep tariffs updated in the system.
* Monitor and report on financial performance, including billing, WIP clearance, accruals, and loss control.
* Lead and develop the team: manage HR processes (attendance, reviews in HiBob), build morale, and foster a positive work culture.
To Be Considered:
* Strong experience in sea freight forwarding working for a freight forwarder
* Must have experience in Perishables.
* Proven ability to manage P&L and deliver against budget.
* Solid knowledge of customs clearance processes.
* Track record in supplier management and rate negotiations.
* Leadership skills with experience managing and motivating operational teams.
* Proven management experience gained in the UK.
