Overview
Research Associate in Environmental Engineering at UNSW. Based at the UNSW Water Research Centre within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Reports to Professor Richard Stuetz. No direct reports.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop scholarly research and professional activities through the pursuit of defined projects.
* Contribute towards teaching and learning in the School.
* Collaborate with industry stakeholders as appropriate.
Qualifications
* A PhD in Environmental Engineering and relevant work experience in collaborating with industry stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in: air quality and treatment; water quality and management; chemical and sensory odorant analysis; data science including bioinformatics and/or machine learning.
* Demonstrated ability to work with practitioners in the Australian water and resource industries.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent research and applied research with limited supervision.
* Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
* Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
* Passion for teaching and learning development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level; willingness to undertake professional development of teaching practice.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students and possess highly developed interpersonal skills.
* Ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
* Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values with relevant policies and guidelines.
Employment Details
* Salary, Level A - $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full time
* Fixed-term contract for 3 years
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
