Wheelchair Technician - Band 4 (£30,353 - £33,016)
Location: NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service, Woodend Hospital, Aberdeen
Hours: 37 hours per week
NHS Grampian Wheelchair Service is based in Aberdeen and supports the wheelchair and special seating needs of around 9000 adult and paediatric service users in Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
The wheelchair technician vacancy is a great opportunity to applicants interested in working for the NHS in a multidisciplinary team of motivated clerical, technical and clinical staff.
Responsibilities of the job involve maintenance, repair, refurbishment, adjustment and assembly of manual and powered wheelchairs. You will also be required to manufacture some components using workshop facilities including a range of hand tools and machinery. There is a regular need to drive service vehicles across the region to deliver and service equipment in various environments such as homes, care homes, school and hospitals.
Good communication and technical skills are essential as well as being an excellent team player. Experience of wheelchairs is desirable, but training will be provided by senior colleagues.
The region offers fantastic opportunities for outdoor leisure activities including coastal and mountain based pursuits.
