We have an exciting position for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to work in a Kendal school assisting pupils with additional needs such as Autism, Speech and Language Delays and learning disabilities. The role is to join the school in September and assist pupils at EYFS and Primary age – although they will be mainly learning at an EYFS level. We are looking for a EYFS Teaching Assistant who can work long term and full time, however we will also consider part time applicants.
The ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant will be a passionate graduate who has previous experience supporting children or adults with SEN. You will be working with pupils who have challenges communicating using speech sounds, you will be given guidance from the Teacher and Speech therapist. You will be expected to use PECs and also Makaton as alternative communication techniques.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of young people. You will be expected to work as a team with the other TA’s to provide a nurturing and safe learning environment.
