This is a challenging yet hugely rewarding role, ensuring the safety and security of people and premises, at a large, busy hospital Trust.
Normal working hours Monday - Sunday: 6 on 3 off, 12-hour shifts, night shift only on a rolling rota. There is potential for additional overtime.
KEY TASK AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall responsibility for the security operations on shift.
Liaise with Operations manager for day-to-day operations.
To report and respond to all security incidents and emergency situations.
Attending and managing all security related incidents including fire evacuation and conflict management including physical intervention.
Assisting the Operations Manager to Carry out investigations
Responsible for comprehensive report writing in relation to incidents.
Escalate incidents to ICTS management
Ensure standing orders are read, understood and signed.
Recommend to operations Manager any changes needed to standing orders.
Ensure all security documentation is filled in correctly.
Ensure operations Manager is briefed on site activities on a daily basis.
Ensure all security areas are kept clean and tidy
Report loss/damage of security equipment
An SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Close Protection (CP) license is essential, and to succeed in this role you will also need:
• Excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• The ability to be dynamic and interact with the public.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in security.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
• 5 year checkable background
• Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the required standard
• Document and Share-Code to prove eligibility to work within the UK, if applicable
• Excellent command of English - both oral and written
• SIA license - Door Supervisor or Close Protection is essential
• Previous experience in hospital security or similar
• SIA CCTV Licence is not essential but would be beneficial
• Experience in supervising is essential
• Experience supervising a security team within the NHS is beneficial
