Overview
As an Undergraduate Placement Data Analysis Specialist, you will support our Decision Sciences team in tackling a variety of data challenges: from understanding data sources to helping unlock insights that drive business decisions. This placement is designed to help you consolidate your knowledge, apply theory from your studies to practical scenarios, and develop foundational skills for a career in data analysis.
What You'll Be Doing
* Work closely with business users and technical teams to capture and clarify data requirements.
* See how data can be structured and shaped to solve business problems and support scientific innovation.
* Profile data sets, examining their source, structure, and quality, ensuring data reliability and compliance with relevant standards.
* Assist with data wrangling: sourcing, extracting, and preparing data for models, reports, and insights.
* Support engineering teams by helping test data solutions and participate in designing and checking data models that underpin analytics projects.
* Help ensure that data flows are secure and ethical, working with privacy and regulatory controls.
* Collaborate with experienced data analysts, engineers, scientists, and IT professionals across teams; receive mentorship and connect classroom knowledge to company projects.

Qualifications
* Currently undertaking an undergraduate or integrated master’s degree studying Computer Science, Maths, Data Science, or a related subject with the opportunity to spend 1 year in industry starting in September 2026.
* Good collaboration and teamworking skills.
* Have a basic understanding of data analysis concepts.
* Curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn are vital.
